Skin Care: Easy, Safe and Healthy

There are a lot of products out on the market that make skin care sound like rocket science. However, you don't need a bathroom full of daily creams and step by step instructions to keep your skin healthy and smooth. All you have to do is follow some basic tenets, and remember that everything you do to your body will affect your skin in one way or another.

The first thing that you have to keep in mind is that unhealthy habits affect your skin. So whether you're a smoker or a drinker, or you just like to eat fatty foods loaded with empty carbs, that will make it harder to maintain your skin. Even a high stress life, whether it's from personal relationships or job responsibilities will have an adverse affect on your skin. The first thing that everyone should do is to cut out as many unhealthy habits as possible to help take the strain off their skin.

Once you've put less stress on your skin, the next thing to do is to feed it what it needs. While there are hundreds of moisturizers and skin creams out there, you need to find one that works for you and with your skin. It's also important that you make sure you have soft towels that you pat dry with, rather than rubbing a rough towel all over your skin. That can have very negative effects, particularly in the long term. So can shaving every day, or using harsh soap. Your skin can only hold up to so much, and it's important that you know its limits so that you do the minimum amount of damage.

You need to make sure that you cleanse your skin as completely and gently as you can, working dirt, grease, grime and most of all makeup out of your pores. Clogged pores and residual grime on your skin can lead to all kinds of unsightly blemishes and clogs, which will then take time for your body to work back out to the surface. At the same time though, scrubbing too hard or being too rough on your skin can also lead to inflamed areas, causing damage as surely as anything else. You need hard working cleansers that don't cause irritation, and you need to remember to always be gentle with your skin. The harder you use it, the harder it will be to fix.
